Day 42, Dublin, Dún Laoghaire

August 9, 2012

I had lunch today at a fantastically delicious vegetarian restaurant called Cornucopia in Dublin. Sam (the family friend I met up with in Amsterdam), his mother Catherine, and I had a great meal and a great time catching up. The food was absolutely scrumptious. Yum.

After lunch, they dropped me at Mark’s house in Dun Laoghaire where I’d be spending the next two nights. It was really impressive being in this area during a historical time for the country – my reference being to the great Katie Taylor who won a gold medal for boxing in the Olympics today! Lots and lots of excitement here.

Mark and I went for a swim with a new friend tonight. She is an incredible swimming buddy. Can you guess why? She’s a seal!!! We snorkels around the bay just north of the Forty Foot. We found her in what Mark calls the Seal Garden, which is such a neat area with super tall kelp patches to weave in and out of.

After our play date with the seal, we had some yummy Indian food for dinner (I’ve probably had more Indian food on this trip then ever before in my life – I love it!) with Leah!
